Track coming off of a turntable

I have placed a turntable as the starting point to a layout I am working on. Can anyone instruct me on what track to us for the concrete pad around the area outside of the turntable? The kind that shows just the rails immediately off the turntable? The example is like the second tutorial in Tranz 2012.

Appreciate the insight.

Thanks

I would suggest some kind of rail only track as any track with ballast would most likely have an alpha channel as part of it so grass and so on shows through towards the sides where the ballast is thin and would look terrible. As a test temporarily place a short section of normal track (with ties and ballast) there and take a look. You will see what I mean.

Thanks Ben,

So would you suggest laying the slab of concrete down first and then laying the rail in it, or lay the rail first and configure a slap around it? So how would one lay a slab of concrete at the level or height of the turntable? This is all new to me, so I hope you don't mind my questions. Thanks again.
