TPR Needs Your Help

TrainzDiag troubleshooter
Hi all just to let you know that TPR needs contributions to keep going for next year .
This is a reply I got from Michael Hurst (aka) Meridious when I asked him if we had funds to carry on .

As for funds, we basically have nothing left. Paying for both servers hurt us. I'm going to be pulling everything off the dot com site and letting that one go. We will keep the dot org server which is where the forum and depot are now.
We dont want to lose TPR so if any one can help by donating money please go to this page which has a make a donation link on it.

I've dropped a few coins in the bucket, hope it helps. It would be a shame to see TPR go under for lack of support. If it is not enough and TPR can't survive, buy yourselves a drink on me.

This is an acid test for those who prefer (for whatever reason) earlier versions of Trainz. There is no such thing as a free repository, there is a constant cost that requires constant support.

Before anyone asks, I've dropped a few coins in too.

Having paid my dues, perhaps I may be permitted to make a suggestion. Visiting the TPR web site makes me think that it is already dead. Bring it into the current day, while I know that TS2010 and before has its followers, it is still out of date, and despite what people think, TS12 is far superior. Tane is almost here and that will push all other versions even farther back.

In short, if TPR is going to survive it has to represent the present day as well as history.

Peter

I contributed $25 this morning to keep TPR going. Over the years I've gotten a lot of good content via TPR. In recent times I've not downloaded near as much from TPR but it is still a very useful 3d party site for Trainz content and I hate to see it go away. I noticed the Mance Post Office on TPR this morning a downloaded it. It is one of my favorite spots on my Keystone Route and I've been using a kit bashed version of the post office for several years in the TRS-2006 route version. This will probably make it to the DLS soon. But, with N3V now forcing both a FCT and the purchase of TS12 to use their DLS for new content I'm hoping the good content creators in the near term will continue using something other than the DLS to get their content out there. Many do not like the N3V rules and the fact that N3V "owns" and uses as it likes any content placed on the DLS. Frankly, if I were a content creator I'd never place anything on the DLS.

I'm with Peter please bring the site up to date.
Mick.

Last I know it was $150 a year but that was 2-3 years ago. By TPR members I was referring to the 20 or so members of TPR not the ones who register for the forum or Depot.

Can I please ask anyone who has not made a donation to please do so as we still need donations to keep going

I have just been informed by Michael Hurst (aka) Meridious Quote"
We have plenty in the account now and I have paid for the renewal. We are good until Nov 26th 2015 "
So a big thank you to all who have contributed

That is good news. I sadly was broke and couldn't contribute. If and when I get some extra cash, I'll send it your way. As a pensioner now, I scrimp every penny very carefully and need to account for everything.

Excellent news, I hope more folks use TPR in future, a great upload area for your goodies that you don't want to put on the DLS, for one thing.
