what is the size of all the storage used on the content? that might be cheaper or free, depending on how much is needed.

The 1and1 web sites offer unlimited storage and there are a number of us who have one so just adding on the TPR content could be done by a number of people at no additional cost. I think the question is more transferring the domain name and the way the site was built. What is interesting is that SSL ie HTTPS is now offered for $15 a month together with unlimited etc etc.

Since I only look after the TPR Depot I cant tell you the size of the size of the Web site including the Depot
i would say that I dont think it would be possible to transfer all the content over to another site owing to the size of the content on the Depot.
I will pass your info about unlimited storage to Michael Hurst (aka) Meridious who does run the site

Just got my calculator out and found that 15$ a month would come to 180$ per year which is more that we are currently paying

I'm currently paying $5 a month for unlimited bandwidth and storage by paying for three years at a time, the full rate is $9 a month, HTTPS is just sort of interesting as until recently it has been an additional $10-$15 a month just for HTTPS, Google and some others have been pushing HTTPS for some time as a way to make the web a little more secure.

Personally I suspect that the hassle of moving the web site would be too high to consider changing.

Hi robin_hoods,

I just sent over some dough.

I think that should nearly cover the annual bill.

John

Hi All I can now announce that we now have enough funds to continue for another year.
I would like to say a big thank you to all those who contributed donations to TPR

Hi robin_hoods,

I am glad to hear that the excellent resource that is TPR can be kept running for another year. I am sorry that I could not donate this year, but hopefully I can contribute next year.

Hopefully I'll stop spending so much of my money on model trains by then. :hehe:

Kieran.
