Over the past couple of years, I've found some awesome tools, most of which are free, for content editing and file manipulation.
File Boss V2.5
http://www.theutilityfactory.com/
The cost is $50 after the 30-day trial. So far my trial hasn't counted down and I've used it for 3-days.
This is a great tool for copying a single, or multiple files, to multiple folders.
How many times have we needed to do this?
This is great of doing things such as adding in the Carzfizzix script to multiple traincars (another project I'm been doing lately).
Search and Replace Master 1.3
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Search-and-Replace-Master-Download-110869.html
This is a text string search and replace/add-on tool. You can search through subdirectories, which is great for changing text in multiple config.txt files. Instead of opening each one individually in Notepad, simply put in your text string exactly where you want it to appear in the config.txt file. (This works if the content is from the same author, usually) Press the Execute button, and voila! All of the updates are done at once.
Text Crawler 2.2.0.0
http://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk/content/index.php
This is another text search and replace tool. I use both this and the above one at the same time, so I don't have to to clear my text searches. This also has an MRU list of text strings so you can recall things you've done before.
List.exe
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17657
Believe it or not, but this nifty little text viewer, which is also great for seeing the binary contents of any file, is back. This one has been around for ages as browse.exe, list.com, and a couple of other iterations. I used this same utility 20 years ago as list.com.
These are all great add-ons to any toolbox, which like any tool will come in handy some day. I'm sure you guys have your own tools as well. Feel free to add them to this list.
