To our Japanese members of the trainz community

My deepest thoughts go to those in Japan, this is so terrible for all of you. The quake was 8000 times more powerful than the NZ one.
 
My prayers and sympathy to all those people affected by these "natural" disasters. The South African news states various other countries may be affected by the tidal wave and I sincerly hope the wave misses all of them.
 
Further update.....

A nuclear reactor has lost cooling water and pressure is building.

Thousands in the reactor area evacuated.

USA sending coolant.... airlifting the cooling compound... but only sufficent for one day.

News networks reporting with nuclear reactor experts that the situation is very serious.

This is getting terrible.
 
My sympathies as well, just watching it all on the TV, looks pretty grim, lets hope this is the end of these disasters and that there isn't more on the way.
 
My thoughts go out from the Russian people to the Japanese people. Let's hope the damage will be minimized. Though I saw some boats floating out to see in California as well. It all looks so sad and frightening.
 
I spent three years at Misawa Air Base (just north of Hachinohe) and we felt quakes almost every day. Minor ones, to be sure, but in the back of our mind was the worry of a "big one". My condolences to anyone who saw this one up close and personal. The loss of life is going to be pretty bad. So sad.

As you all probably know, the prayers of Trainz PA and St. Louis Locomotive Works go out to our friends and cross-ocean neighbors, the japanese. God bless you, and keep you from all harm.

Note that this a news report, so we're not sure how accurate it maybe. Furthermore, I suggest we don't debate wether countries should use nuclear energy or not here.

I'm not sure when this happened, but the news is reporting that an explosion has happened at one of the nuclear plants, injuring four workers. The news stated earlier that a small amount of nuclear vapour (I think that's the wording) was deliberately released to ease pressure.
 
Hi Everybody.
I have just been watching again this morning the appalling pictures from from Japan. One can only wonder just how these people are coping in the circumstances in which they find themselves.

First to survive the original earthquake, then to be overwhelmed by the tsunami which this morning is followed by a growing nuclear emergency overshadowing the whole country.

Let us hope that the world can assist in any way it can with the huge support and assistance that is obviously going to be needed both short and long-term in the future.

Our hearts go out to all those affected, and may their god go with them.
