Thread Exception?

I suddenly began getting a red error message signal in Driver which says:
HoldPathRule: Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 271, file holdpathrule.gs(1)

When I click on More I get
function $void@HoldPathRule: HoldPath(), line-1

Does anyone have any idea what this means and/or what I can do to get rid of this recurring message?

As a possible clue to the cause, I spent some time trying to get Brummfondel's Path Control to work on my route until I concluded that it is not supported by TS09 SP3.

Thanks for any ideas.

The .gs(1) points to a script error which is probably not fixable unless you know how to use a script editor.

Hi FloridaGuy - Does this problem happen on more than one route?

I found that after you add the Path Control rule it gets embedded into the route. Even though you delete the rule it is still in there.

I might suggest saving the route under another name after deleting missing assets (if you can still do this in TS2010 - I don't have it yet), but be careful that you don't lose the links to your sessions. Take a backup or make a clone, whatever is necessary first.

Hope this helps

Trevor

Check in CM that the rule doesn't have missing dependencies or is faulty. You may have inadvertently deleted or modified one of its dependencies, to cause it to become faulty.

Also, did you just install SP3?

Hi Trevor: It only happens on the route on which I tried to use Path Control. By "deleting missing assets" do you mean delete all of the Path Control material from the CM?

Also, is there some way to make a backup or clone besides just saving the route to a new name and keeping the original?

Hi Warren,

He means within Surveyor. Up on the file menu there's an option to delete missing assets from within the route you have open. You'll receive an "are you sure message", and then it will do its thing.

What is the kuid number of the asset that contains the holdpathrule.gs script file? I'd like to take a look at it.

Bob

Me too

Warren - I sent you a Private Message, maybe (like me) you didn't notice it below the Welcome, FloridaGuy top right.

I would also like to know the kuid as above.

Thanks - Trevor

Trevor and Bob - The assets that I was using were in the x:192081:xxx series by Brummfondel. Specifically I used jsTRF Path Control, Path Control-setpath and Autodrive. I believe, but can't be positive, that one of these caused the problem. I am definitely sure that this version of path control does not work in TS09.

At ElStoko's suggestion I have since started to use Mutton's Path Rule which seems to work fine in '09.

Trevor - Sorry about missing your private message. As you say, I didn't notice it. I'll respond later today.
