The Sounds of an emergency stop...

While parusing another site I found this video.
While it has good video evidence of how long a freight train "at speed" can take to stop, The sound should tell it all.

Cool ! Thanks..I actually had the honour ( or misfortune ? ) of riding with the crew in the cab of a runaway train at night , sparks flying and screeching sounds ...fortunately nothing bad happened in the end, but we were all wet after that, and it was not just from sweat.
Many people think trains have disc brakes and stop on a tickey..

I can't decide... it definitely sounds worse than a 67 Impala going sideways down a blvd...
But is it skin crawling or kinda musical?

I heard a scarier sound once.... audio recording of an engineer well aware he was doomed communicating with "dispatch" about what was happening. He had hooked up to a cut of cars which then started pushing him down a grade with no pressure in the brake system, no way to stop at all.

Bone chilling.

He survived, but the train ended up on it's side after flipping over a curve.
