The Side-by-side error resolved.

I downloaded and installed the MSVC++ Runtime libraries for my computer.

A check of the Windows Event Viewer showed the error no longer ocurring after installing these files.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 so I downloaded both the 64-bit and the 32-bit versions just in case.
