The process of terminating a train.

Hello everyone. Say for example a train arrives at a station that is passenger enabled and it's the terminus of the line. Respectively, the commands used are "Navigate to, then hover over the station name and then select the platform number" and afterward the command "terminate train". Once these two commands are done, the train sits at the platform and all the passengers have departed the train, leaving an empty train at the platform. Of course, I would then use "Run around train extended" for the driver to switch cabs. The rolling stock to keep in mind for this example is a LBSCR South London EMU 3 car consist.

What commands should I use to have the train load at the same platform without moving to another platform?

Also, what is the better command method to have a train load at a platform?

1. "Navigate to, then hover over the station name and then select the platform number", "Unload", "Load", and "Hornz"

2 "Navigate to, then hover over the station name and then select the platform number", "Load", and "Hornz"

Using the second method, once the train is full after loading at multiple stations, the doors no longer open when the train loads at the platform.

Tips, recommendations, and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and stay awesome.

Using AJS passenger enabled stations/platforms, I use, Drive/Navigate to Station X/Platform Y; Terminate Passenger Train; Wait; Change Train Direction; Load; Drive/Navigate to Station A/Platform B.

If you want to see passengers disembark you can insert the Unload command prior to Terminate Passenger Train but it does mean the train doors open twice. Change Train Direction moves the driver to the opposite end of the train but you do need to re-select the driver from the driver list before you actually can see that he/she has moved. You may also need to insert a Set Max Speed command after the Drive to Station command as frequently previous speed settings revert to 40mph after this command. Peter

For passenger trains, there is no difference between the "Load" and "Unload" commands.
Is there a reason why? It's not right for a passenger train to arrive at a passenger enabled station, only for the doors to not open.

That is not what I have here. With 'Unload' the passengers get off the train and after a few seconds fade away, but those already waiting on the platform remain on the platform. With 'Load' the passengers on the train get off the train and fad away as those waiting on the platform board the train. I'm using AJS Invisible Stations and BR Class 117 DMBS/DMS/TCL and BR Class 47 pulling BR Blue/Grey Mk2xxx coaches, running T:ANE (build 88364). Peter

Going back to the "old" days of the earlier versions of Trainz (TRS2004, etc) unloading a commodity such as coal meant that the coal wagons were emptied and could then be shunted to storage or returned empty to the mine to pick up (load) a new lot of coal. An "Unload" command would never be followed immediately by a "Load" command.

Passengers, however, would be dropped off and picked up at the same stop - the exception of course being terminals. This would have meant issuing a "Unload" command followed by a "Load" command at each station and the game engine, at that time AFAIK, was not able to handle that (don't know if it can now). Plus, the two sequential commands would have increased the delay time at each stop. So the programmers decided that, for passenger trains, the two commands would have the same effect - i.e. both would load and unload passengers.

The question of the doors not operating may be a completely separate issue. I know that there have been problems with opening/closing doors of certain rolling stock assets in the various versions of Trainz. Try a different asset set and see if there is any change.

That may be a new development as I have not noticed it. That plus the fact that I have not been working with passenger enabled assets for some time now.

The nice thing about the Trainz community is that they share their knowledge and experiences and frequently go out of their way to help each other if they can. If you think a video would help explain the issues I'm sure many will take the time to view it and offer a solution if they believe they can help. Peter

Respectively. I'll see what I can do. Thank you.

Hi

Have a look at "Load Passengers" kuid2:192081:5:2 by author "brummfondel" and on the DLS. This gives you the option of which side to open the doors on (or both sides at once) with various delays up to 30 minutes.

Well, that command is useful, but I would like to use a command that allows loading at a passenger enabled station. In other words, when the train arrives at the station and the doors open, the passengers on the platform actually board the train. I will try to do a video that showcases this issue.

AJS Invisible Stations in conjunction with DriveToStation v2 (Kuid2:69312:7002:27) and/or NavigateToStation v2 (Kuid:61392:7005:26) provide the function of carriage doors opening and passengers visually getting on and off trains. The single track stations is built into T:ANE but others can be downloaded from the DLS. You basically insert the station into your track and use the above commands to direct the train to the platform. The stations setting allow adjustment of where and for how long the train stops at that particular platform and the number of passengers arriving at the platform per hour, which train doors open and so forth. Peter
