The "original" Folder

I'm familiar with the local folder but what is the contents of the "original" folder and its' significance?

The significance of the Original folder is the same as the Local folder. It stores assets that have been downloaded from the Download Station via Content Manager but not modified.

At my guess, non-edited versions of the built in stuff

Thanks guys. So is it safe to assume everything in the local folder has been modified?

Pretty much, yes. Be aware that 'modified' also refers to assets installed from a CDP file (or using Import Content) and assets that you created yourself.
