The Frisco High Line

Thanks for asking. I'm glad someone thought it was interesting enough to inquire.

The building structure is all one piece from the DLS. The cooling ponds are kit bashed. Retaining walls, water texture, water splines, irrigation sprayers, and a few water effects like mist.

I normally like to add more detail before I post screenies but I couldn't resist on this one. Maybe I'll find time to add some more this weekend and update the screen shots.

Thats funny, I found the same asset a couple weeks ago in search of a good power plant. I've been modeling a section of ex Frisco track myself, DEM and all but I've hit a snag in researching. Not turning up much info anymore so I'll just wait for yours! Looking good.

Here's some more shots of the Frisco yard in Clinton, Mo. You can see the Missouri Public Service power plant in the distance on the right. The elevators for Larabee Flour Mills Corp. on the left. The flour mill is serviced by the MKT (Missouri Kansas Texas) railroad.

The year is 1984 and it's just a matter of time before the MKT purchase by the MoPac/UP is approved.

Three MKT GP40-2's and a MoPac GP50 pull a string of MPSX hoppers full of coal from Oklahoma on its way to St. Louis.

hey man which graphics card do you have?

I'm not sure right now. I'm at work. I'll have to check when I get home. It's a nice Acer laptop about 3 years old with a dedicated graphics card. I run with all my performance sliders to the right. I did quite a bit of research before I bought it. I've been really happy with it for $749.

Great screenshots as always! I like the coal plant. I like the hoppers with Reddy Kilowatt on them. Up here, Northern States Power also used that cartoon logo. I guess quite a few power companies did.

FRAPS Video of the High Line

I've been playing around with FRAPS and made a couple of videos of the High Line. I've had FRAPS for a while but never took the time to figure out the video compression process to make the files more manageable. It's not too difficult once you have it figured out.

A Frisco GP7 crosses the MKT at the North Clinton inerlocking. Thanks again to BNSF50 for that awesome crossing gate modeled after SLSF plans of the original.

Thanks again to everyone for the comments.

Here's video of a MKT train traveling northeast through Clinton, Mo. on its' way to Sedalia, Mo. This stubborn old man just can't get out of the way fast enough.
