The Frisco High Line

Looks great! What's that crossing gate? I'm curious about it in Trainz, but also the prototype as I've never seen such a thing in real life.

An MKT GP7 performing some switching moves on the house track at the MKT depot in Clinton.

forgive me for quoting pictures, but I have to ask: is that MKT Caboose on the DLS, or is a reskin of yours that hasn't made it out yet?

Thank you. The gate is by bnsf50. He made it by request after SLSF plans. It's a dead ringer for the original. <kuid:39134:100276> He has several versions so you might want to check out all of them.

As far as the original, check out post #4 in the thread below. The pic in the thread is from the 1950's is looking looking north across the MKT line while my screenshots are looking southwest and southeast.

Two versions are on their way to the DLS now...

No prob. I'm more than willing to help out a fellow Trainzer from the KC area. Lately I've cherished 3 or 4 hours on the weekend I can spend on the Highline but its time well spent. I think I need to do some red F7's...

By the way sawyer, I recently drove from Clinton all the way to St. Charles following the Katy grade. What a fun trip! Beautiful landscape and country. I kept thinking of meeting a green and yellow striped F7 along Hwy 94... :)

That sounds priceless, I miss railroading of the 60's & 70's & when I'm back in towns were I grew up in with mainlines & branchlines it takes me back in time still seeing F's, HH Geeps , Alcos etc.:)

Great job! Man, if you could only make the entire thing, Kansas City to Springfield.:udrool:

Thanks. Yeah that would be cool but an insane amount of work. It's going to be Clinton to a little south past Bolivar and that's it. Which is about 75 miles.

Here's a GP7 passing a abandoned railroad building on it's way to spot a tank car at Standard Oil in Clinton.

Thanks.

Awesome stuff mate. What roads are being used there?

It's one of the original yarn roads by maddy25 I've reskinned. Unfortunately I haven't uploaded it yet because it's not up to current spline standards for the config file. I'm still using TS2010 so the configs for most of the original yarn roads I've reskinned will have to be edited to upload to the DLS. Not fun. :(

Here's a KCCS (Kansas City, Clinton, & Springfield) boxcar as it might have appeared post 1910, after knuckle couplers and other safety appliances were installed.

This is just my own opinion but I think Frisco 1522 would look pretty good on this route....well considering she got some cosmetic surgery to bring her up to 2012 standards in detail Like my Frisco. But must say it is a truelly beautiful replication of the original. I solute you.

Not sure the trackbed could handle her weight though :hehe: In all seriousness, the Highline was kind of a backwater, and I somehow doubt it had heavy enough rail to support the massive hunk of Mountain-class steel that is the Frisco 1522 that we all know and love!
