The fixed track falls when mounting switches.

Hello. I am from Russia and do not speak English, I write through a translator, I apologize for the errors in the text.

I have such a problem when installing track switches. I use fixed tracks for the convenience and speed of mounting the necks of stations. But in TRS2019 there was a problem. If fixed tracks are attached to the switch, then the switches are not connected to each other, they immediately fall off. Because of this, it is very difficult to build a station. The process is very slow. Do not judge strictly for excessive punctuality, I'm just a perfectionist and I like perfectly straight rails.
In Traintz 12 and in TANE such errors have never been observed.

Here is a screenshot:

The black arrows show where I am trying to connect structure 1 and structure 2 to each other. Red Cross - where the fiesed track falls off, that is, from all sides.
I wanted to upload a video, but YouTube doesn’t process the video. Already a very long processing 0%.
You can do this experiment yourself:
Take 2 switch patterns, for example: TSX 1/11 R P65 2768. Look for <kuid:9768:528984835> on the DLS. Attach these switches on all sides of the fixed track <kuid2:354694:112502:2>. Try to connect the structures to each other on each side.

UPD.

I did exactly the same, connected the fixed track to the switch, and the switch to the fixed track, still does not attach.

I've used the switches and rail shown below which work well all the time.

The fixed track will attach easily to one another without using flexible track between each fixed track section.

<kuid:571870:3101> k m switch L
<kuid:571870:3102> k m switch R
<kuid2:571870:3011:3> k m rail-W1-K

Test it yourself.

Cheers, Roy

The OP wants to connect a group of Fixed Track (FT) sections including the turnout to another group of FT sections and from my experience Trainz - TANE and now TRS19 - won't allow this. You can only add 1 piece of FT at a time. While Trainz allows you to connect up a group of FT section into a group and move it around translating and rotating it as a unit since TANE it does not seem to allow connecting 2 groups of FT sections together. Now you must use a piece of spline track between the 2 groups to connect them.

This behavior is different from what we had in TS12 and previous versions. In those versions we could connect up 2 groups of FT sections like the OP wants to do.

Progress in Trainz apparently doesn't come without some pain and loss of an occasional useful feature.

Hi VL101141,

I confirm, the same happpens with other fixed tracks too, I reported it as bug and let's hope the best...

@Bob,
If all content is
kind "fixedtrack" and
category-class "TF"
They always snapped together in the past, no matter if they were groupped or not...

"You can only add 1 piece of FT at a time." - this is the bug in this case ;)
Now it breaks all layouts which are using fixed track based turnouts.
What you are mentioning here, are the kind "buildable" at these objects this is normal behaviour, like Andi06's old junction kit from TRS2004...

Thanks for that info Krisz. I just tested a few items in TS12, TANE and TRS19 that are kind fixedtrack assets - straight track sections. In TS12 you can connect them into groups and the groups will snap together. In TANE and TRS19 you can only connect by adding 1 at a time as noted. You cannot connect 2 groups by snapping them together.

I agree the behavior of FT is different between TS12 and TANE so it should have been flagged as a bug back then and fixed. TANE was supposed to duplicate any "normal" behavior seen in TS12.

Thanks friends! I am glad that you did not ignore me, I will hope to fix this bug. Indeed, in TRS12 it was easier to build stations, using FT was smooth and beautiful. Now the process is complex and painful. Checked in T: ANE, everything is exactly the same there. Hope to fix it.

Well, I've just re-tested the 'k m switch L & R' in T:ANE (Build 105766) and TRS19 (Build 105096) and don't see any problems with them.

For what it is worth, each fixed track will attach easily to one another without the use of flexible track between. In addition, once a number of them were attached together, the whole lot can be moved easily as a single unit in any direction.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Roy

Hi Roy,

If you attach them 1 by 1, there is no issue.
If you create groups first and try to attach these groups, the issue exists.
The issue exists - only - where the fixed track objects are configurated as
kind "fixedtrack" and
category-class "TF"

I received a message from the Dev team that the issue was already recognized and should be visible in the next build. ;)
Let's hope the best...

Krisz
