The Canadian Thread - Hi-Res images

Thanks to Robby for the AMT F7 reskins!

I know they are missing the winterization hatch/ditchlights but thanks to simulatortrain, who made an awesome kit that has these (along with a snowplow) I hope to get them added to these! I hope to get some help to colour them properly (thankfully you can't see them now ;) )...

Since there is no Montreal route, I substituted something...this consist might have actually run on in a slightly alternate reality.

Hi. The switches are custom items I am developing.

Here's another shot, again in Huntsville. The weather wasn't so good but it was worth being there! :D

Just going through old posts... Where did you get those CN 8000's (Sd70-2m's)? I've looked everywhere... Did you ever get your route done? Would love to try it out!

Unless I'm mistaken, those are payware VMD locos created by Norfolksouthern37. I own them myself, and they're great, but I don't think they're available at the moment as VMD's payware section is still down.

I wonder when VMD will open back up? I thought I'd seen them there... Is Hoseclamp's route available? I have Neilsmith's routes, they are excellent, but I am looking for more Canadian routes....

You can try my route *experiment* which is a very small area I built in my hometown (just look under my name on the DLS). Neilsmith's routes are great! ^^

Hoseclamp hasn't been around really for the past few years. I wonder what he is up to....^^

WoW ! That's some nice looking track...is it readily available on DLS ?

Yeah, many were really interested in this track but he disappeared and hasn't been seen since a few years. Hopefully he'll come back again someday. ^^

Dear Canadian trainzers,

Few years ago I lived in Detroit and I remember seeing Budd-built VIA heritage coaches on some Windsor-Toronto trains, I even managed to catch one of them at night in Windsor, sadly there was no chance of getting a good picture allowing a creation of a model today. Since I came back to those memories, I got interested in creating a few models regarding those silver coaches, sadly I lack apropriate materials. As far as I remember they are still used by VIA Rail Canada,

I wrote a couple of tips what kind of photos are needed for such a creation here:

Would any of You have the chance or ability to help with this? At the moment I live half-of-the-world away from Canada, and have absolutely no chances of getting these beauties as photo-textures.

*Sorry for spamming the thread, I hope it is going to bring us some interesting models :)

I could do the texturing from scratch, although one person to talk to about photo-skinning would be Steve (007007) He's pretty damn good at it.

Unfortunately, I know very little about photo-skinning but I want to wish you luck on that project. There exists a couple sets of these on the DLS (although one has a pinkish hue and the other has a different font for the VIA logo on the side). As there is a serious lack of Canadian passenger equipment, this would really be welcome!

Dear trainzers,

I don't think we understand each other. I don't need the knowledge how to make this, I need the materials - photographs of the actual thing, made under the degree of 90 against the walls of the coach. In other words I ask for the help of someone from Canada or the US to jump to the station (or any other place where a Budd coach is located and accessible) and make (with his or hers camera) a set of pictures like the one in the thread I linked in my previous post.

I make photo-textured rolling stock since 2007 now, and I made around 400 models of rolling stock and locomotives at this point. The only thing I need is the materials, can someone help with this? The effects would look like this:

If I have time I may be able to get some shots when The Skeena comes through. It's usually got one of those cars in its consist.

@Great Lakes, Thank You very much for the link. This is 1st class help.

@skullsk8er, if You would be so kind, that would be mighty helpfull.
