Tea in Istanbul

since 10 Aug 2002
While on a recent vacation with some non train fans, I still managed to get in some rail-fanning. When they were all visiting a 549 year old market, I went to see:

In front of it was a preserved engine from another age

While inside a more modern electric was waiting to depart

Naturally I had to have a tea at this historic restaurant

I looked but there was no Hercule Poirot to be seen, probably left on an earlier train.:hehe:

Oh, man.... My family is from Turkey, and I just visited there this summer....

Thanks for bringing back summer memories! Great postings. I visited the haydarpasa train station on July 11.

There is more to rails in Turkey than the just the Orient Express. On the south coast in the city of Antalya, there is a very modern tram system.
