TC 2.7 vs TRS 2006 (newbie here)

I recently bought the 2-disk set of TC2.7 (Modula City/Harlem Line) and TRS 2006). I quickly got totally involved in TC 2.7 due to the tram route capabilities of Modula City and assets which are not similarly available in TRS 2006. I realize that TC 2.7 has way fewer assets than TRS 2006 which has almost too much to scroll through (yes I know I can disable) so my current mode is to stay in TC 2.7 and add assets as needed from DLS. Keep in mind I'm pretty much into modern-day North America (western USA/Canada) so TC 2.7 seems a good fit for me since I don't need all the content from other countries available in TRS 2006. Both games seem to run the same on my PC.

Question - am I making a mistake in spending too much time in TC 2.7 and will I be able to import my route into TRS 2009 someday (couldn't get it to import to TRS2006) if I am willing to give up the TC 2.7 specific capabilities? If not, are there other reasons to move away from TC 2.7 eventually?

Hi Schweitzer dude,
..........TRS2006 is a lot older than TC1&2 and I don't think reverting back to an older version is possible.
As for TS2009 that is a lot newer and should easily transfer across.

What you need to do is import TRS2006 content into TC....the reason they bundled 2006 in with TC was so you could access the legacy assets from 2006 and use them in TC. You may want to get TC3, too....
