It's actually safer to apply the changes just to the user account that is running Trainz, and is something my Permission Generating Tool will do as well.

No doubt ... or you can just add your user account to the Groups and user names list and follow the steps above for just that user ... but you are correct ... it would be safer ... thanks for the suggestion.

Update: I received my new PC recently, installed TS12 on an own partition of my 250GB SSD and it works fine.
