T2 Support

Not sure on that one. As it appears some are trying to make me out as being a bad guy here, I will explain my responses.

I am simply trying to show that in most cases there are workarounds or solutions for most of the reasons given by people who do not want to pledge. As for those who are unable to pledge due to limited funds or similar, I can understand that and have no problems with that.

Was planning to list a few of my reasons for not supporting KickStarter until I noted that nearly every post was countered by a follow-up post from Shane Turner thus defeating the purpose of the thread.
This is what I was afraid off would happen.

@ Shane,
In a topic like this, give people a few days to respond before starting to reply with alternatives.
The topic was started to learn why people do not pledge, not to learn people how to pledge.

Oh come on, this is just an excuse to have a pop at Shane.

It would be better if these sort of threads were left to those who had not pledged, but any thread where the OP asks for feedback from a particular group will have other people muscling in before long.

So what you are saying is that not only Shane is to blame for this and I agree with you ;).

Shane's always trying to help. I dare say most of us "youngsters" who have come aboard the last couple of years have been pointed in the right direction by him and other helpful members. Guys like you, oknosten. Thanks to all of you for that.

I had no intention of backing this thing. I'm happy where I am with TS12 without the updates. I'm a little afraid of moving on. Then a member gave me a little nudge, and off I went to have a very, very quick read about it. I saw the fears about it somehow not being safe, asked a couple of questions, said to heck with it and sent in a pledge. I guess that must be the number one reason? Also, I would think most trainz users know nothing about this, perhaps just those who visit the forums? I still am not too interested in T2 or whatever ya call it, but the day may come when I feel I must move forward.

My reason for not pledging was kind of selfish. My reason for pledging is also kind of selfish. I'm thinking only about what's good for me.

Cheers....Rick

Sorry, did not see the last 2 posts. Yes, I'm that slow at typing!

Thankyou Rick, amigacooke, and oknotsen.

What I will say though as the last thing I will say in this thread, is for those who are unable to or simply do not want to pledge to please consider promoting the project instead if you haven't already. That will help just as much as pledging, as it increases the number of potential pledgers as well as making people that do not visit the forums aware of the project.

my apoligizes if i was misunderstood my point was some people posting" are theyre other means they could use " since they prefer paypal...(I prefer short and sweet posts instead of life stories but I guess sometimes that is what has to be done to make a point for other s to understand.)
my dissapointments would be that all the dang bashing and crying people do here about a better program
will not cease if this project fails I fear....
I can understand the kickstarter for one all the gamers out theyre how many do use trainz? compaired to XBOXERS PSP S ETC...
history does show other train simulators failing for lack of support etc like MS...
So dont take me wrong ., I just wanna see and enjoy are simulator for years to come...
