T12 periodically crashing when merging routes

While I enjoy working on my one really big layout, I decided to take a break and create a smaller layout that should be quicker to complete. I want to create my own custom busy harbor, with lots of intermodal, ore-barge transfer, etc. using trains generated through portals. In any event, obviously a harbor will involve lots of water. I created a board with the depth I want, color, and water. I have a series of boards that will be the long dock area with water on three sides. I use the merge route function to drop my "ocean" boards around it, so there will be a nice straight dockside. The problem is every so often when I merge, I get the following crash:

File: D:/BUILD/src/trainz/candidate/ts12/Jet/Src/Jet/KernelStandard/File.cpp
Line: 2327
Class: File
Reason: Write() File not open
No call stack available

It doesn't happen every time, but has happened three time so far. Any ideas out there as to why or if this will be a problem when running the layout later? I'm using Windows 7, though for some reason that doesn't show up in the operating system above.

Many thanks!

Known issue - which doesn't help much but at least you are not alone. TS10 and (possibly more-so) TS12 crash periodically while merging...

Well, at least I'm not lonely! :o I managed to finish the first round of merges by saving frequently between them. I guess I can live with it if it's not going to introduce instabilities to the sessions. Thanks!

The good news is the new SP which is being worked on, according to the newsletter, will have this problem fixed. Yay! I had pointed this out to the team way back when TS12 first came out.

I have noticed that a route with lots of content will not merge, but those without any content will merge fine. This points to a memory handling issue, which I witnessed using some tools from Microsoft.
