I have a question,in the section where you can build your railroad how would you add another section to that to be able to make a yard,i better explain myself as i am getting dizzy just thinking about this.I would liketo do a railroad and base it on the Black River Junction that was done in the Model Railroader Magizine (January 2007 Issue).If you had that and look in there you will see the section that becomes the Baltimore & Ohio RR which also interchanges with the New York Central RR.If i could get the staging yard that way then it would look somewhat like it.Any help would be apprecated.

In the topography tab bottom left is a little round "add ground" button thingy. If you select it you can then add more baseboards to your hearts content.

Right mouse clicking on the button will allow you to change from 10m to 5m size grids.

I believe I am correct in saying that this affects only the one baseboard on which you click, and that all in a route will need to be given 5 metre squares individually.

Am I right?

Thank you guys for your help on this and i will try that but first i will see if i can find it in the manual (Old ya Know and i have to see things to know what you are talking about) but i do apprecate the help.

I have TS2010 and I D/L'd a terrain-only route and began developing the baseboards and then realized they were all 10m. Changing them to 5m is easy because all you do is right-click on the add baseboard button, change to 5m, then add on top of the existing baseboard and you can change each one to 5m. Although you have to do each one individually, its fast using the minimap and moving to each baseboard. 5m will stay the default until you exit Trainz, the next time you load Trainz it's back to the 10m default, so you have to keep this in mind when adding baseboards.

The most important advice (which I learned the hard way) I can give is if you want 5m grids, change the baseboards to 5m BEFORE texturing and terraforming - otherwise you are looking at a lot of rework.
