I have been trying to figure out how to change the compass oreintation so that the sun rises in the east? Can anyone tell me how this is done? Thanks in advance
Try changing the time on the Clock control dial in the World flyout. The sun should rise at 0600 and set at 1800.
The track of the sun will travel in an arc across the sky to the south, if your world origin is set in the northern hemisphere. (In actual fact the Trainz sunrise will be slightly to the south of east, and sunset is slightly to the south of west, unless you're on the equator).
If your world origin is set in the southern hemisphere, the arc of the sun's travel will be to the north.
If you are used to living in the northern hemisphere this can give rise to the illusion that the sun is travelling the "wrong way". Could this be the problem?
The compass cannot be altered AFAIK. It just sits there giving you a direction as you manoeuvre around it.
Im using a prebuilt trackplan, unfortunantly the mainline runs east to west, while i need it to run north to south,Not that its that important, but i just thought it would be nice to know how to turn the compass,or the trackplan. Thanks for your help
Either way, there’s no better way of finishing the day, pouring a glass of your favourite drink, loading your favourite route, sitting back (with or without wind, or varicose veins) and watching the sun gently setting into your baseboard!
Well, I guess if I'm heading west (southbound), I can set up a fan next to my monitor ( I'm facing west anyway) turn it on and pretend to stick my head out of the cab.
Isn't that a joke somewhere?
A stranger road into town and asked the first person he met, "I am new around here, does the sun rise in the east or the west in these parts?"
Of course you all realise that the sun rises in both the east, and the west, e.g. Brisbane and Perth, New York and San Francisco, London and Penzance etc.
Strictly speaking, we’ve all been attempting to answer the wrong question, which should perhaps have referred to the sun rising from the East.
