Subway Mods (Discussion On Working With Trainz Subway)

In order to unclogged the NYCTA pics post, I made a post dedicated to question on how to edit your subway cars.

My questions first:
How do make custom rollsigns on The R32 and the R46?
and
How do repaint the subway cars?

well for the r46 just open the route textures for the 146 up in Explorer and open up anykind of paint software u have and reskin or make

If you mean remake the destination signs, I do it that way since it seems easier, but you also need photoshop to convert the images.

Doesn't have to be Photoshop. Paint shop pro works well (I use v8), or try the GIMP (freeware download).

No, I mean reskining the train. Like reskinning the R32 to look like the up-to-date ones. Can you reskin the train in MSPaint?

MS Paint is a really lousy graphics program. I do my art work and texture construction in PhotoFiltre, which is free from the net. The only problem I have with it is that I can't figure out how to save as an uncompressed .tga, which is needed to reskin some traincars. For that I convert them in IrfanView, which is also freeware.

 Claude

does anybody know what to do after you clone the route textures? is there any other stuff you have to do in order for the cloned route textures to work in trainz?

I have some.

I have an important question regarding Subway cars and non-passenger-enabled stations:

I once saw a command in Ali_3exp's nycta pics that is used to make train doors open on non-passenger enabled stations (I confirmed that when I watched his videos). I saw it a month ago, but now I can't find it! :( Anyone know where to get it?

Thanks.

Here's another question: How do you make custom route textures? I only have MSPaint, and when I try to write in MSPaint the text leaves a lot to be desired. :hehe: :o

Never mind !

Now I got a differet question: Is it possible for me to create a subway car that shows the next station in the operator's cab, like the Trainz Classics Metro North M7?

How do I create custom rollsigns? I really want to create the <7> for the R62. :udrool:

Can you do it just with Paint.net and MSPAINT, or do you need GIMP to convert the images? Can you convert them with paint.net?
