Stupid question...I know

I'm sorry to bother you with such a stupid question but how do I get rid of that box I accidently got there. Instead of that there used to be a box which had the throttle in it... I want it back!

When you enter Drive select DCC mode. You are currently in Cab Mode.

The first window in Driver allows you to select. You will have to do this each time, for some reason your selection is not remembered and the choice always defaults to Cab Mode.

Thank you Peter. So Cab mode doesn't have "easy controls" because it's supposed to be more realistic?

Another question to anyone who might know... How to I add locomotives when I choose a route I want to play? When I select "new train" all I can find are wagons/carts.

You can change the driver mode in the Startup Options rule on the Session edit window. Options are Cab, DCC, and Ask. It's also possible to turn off the Quick Drive window by editing the Quick Drive rule, also in the Session edit window.

Edit: To add trains you want to drive, it's better to use a Session then edit the route itself. On the Surveyor main screen (where it lists all the routes you have) double-click the route you want to use. It'll go to the Session screen. Click Create Session. Train cars are accessed by clicking the wheel icon on the right. (The bottom icon.) The first tab has individual train cars. The second tab has pre-made sets of train cars. That could mean a full train or a bunch of rolling stock without any engines/cabooses attached.

Also note, by default in TS2010 a lot of stuff is hidden. Go to Main Menu|Options, Surveyor Settings, and at the bottom uncheck "show only favorite content" and you'll see more stuff then you would otherwise. The routes/sessions screens have a similar thing, click on the gold star to hide/show any routes/sessions not rated 5 stars.
