Stupid A.I. Engineer

How do you foolproof keep an A.I. Engineer from taking a spur that leads to a dead end? I have a "drive to" marker not an eighth of a mile down the track, but he just yawns and pretends it's not there and insists on taking the dead end spur, which leads to a stop and the "exclamination point."

try a direction marker pointing away from the end of the spur. This should keep any AI train from enteringthe spur.

Place a bumper at the end of the siding...most have a red signal.
