Stuff that I do. (XXL pictures)

Holy cow! I don't think anyone can deny that you have captured the soul of Northeastern rail roading at the height of the barren, cold winter!

Yes baby ooops sorry i got carried away

Isegrinns, Trainz Pa you guys are top notch and Ed is right your picts are awesome and you can touch the atmosphere.
I remember when living at lake Chickamauga TN and the geese fly at the dock of my house while just gazing the winter landscape of wintertrees that kind of atmosphere feeling i see here too! Excellent my friend.

courthouse Japan go Samsung goooo

Courthouse I know Dinorius_redundicus made a nice one a few month ago with nightmode but who want crooked judges in trainz too?
Ed i know what you're feeling but i did won one time a case i thought no way they would.... maybe a glitch and i was lucky...
Yesterday Ning and I enjoyed seeing Samsung win in Japan's court ruling on BS apple case which made my week for sure.
Seeing the US court in California ruling in pure protectionism so cheap and silly showing how desperate trying to manipulate the local market..... aaargh Go Samsung gooooo.... put that apple in the shredder and I will take a bite too.
Bought 2 times Apple Ipad thinking N3V and apple would be professional but both was hit and run and sheer emptiness in the development tunnel not even a train coming:hehe:

For comparison, thats how it looks in 12.

Good thing: better drawing distance and multiplayer.
Bad thing: would have to rebuild a lot of scenes as there is a lot of older content in it which 12 cannot handle.

But judge for yourself.

I'm afraid of TS12. Moving to TS10 really messed up my route from TS09 (I used a lot of Trunda's trees..... enough said), and I dread what it will do to what's left. I really haven't been much into the route building since then. I'm glad I got bit by the reskinning bug, otherwise, I may well have abandoned Trainz.

It helped to have seperate installs... I.e. I am glad I still have 06 installed somewhere.
Transfering all content from one version to the other is a pain, though.

AWESOME !! and being from the NE area and through and in north NJ it captures it so well . Are you from this area originally then moved to Germany ?

LMAO, I was wondering exactly the same thing, seeing as how our best route builders are nowhere near what they are doing. I mean we have Australian Pennsylvania (Scratchy) and Kentucky/Indiana (Dermmy), and Polish Miami (Xawery). Hell, I lived in Miami for 26 years, and Xawery does a better Miami than I could have imagined doing!!!

I have a theory on that...

Having lived in Europe for a number of years during my Military service, I was able to observe life and here is what I think it is:

The "Hurry up I want it now" mentality isn't as prevalent in society over there.....

People take things a bit slower, and when they get done, they get done. Patience and "When I think it is right, then I will be done" rule the day.

Just a theory, I might be wrong.

Thanks for your praises, sirs!
:)

I am 100% german, born & raised ca 15. miles north of Hamburg. Been in Pennsylvania and Virginia last year, but thats it, the rest comes from books & magazines.

No clue why a lot of talented creators arent murricans.
Might be that we work off from images we have seen, may they be clichee or not.
Or maybe we are going to work a bit more relaxed.

I think what n8phu said is pretty accurate about the southern and western part of europe, but comes to germany, I would not say that.
We can be a pretty swiftly people. I would go as far that I say we are one of the most un-relaxed people of europe!

I think what we miss most in the USA is the non-hurry to get it done and listed. It seems that assets from non-USA producers have more attention to the detail that make them look really real. For some, the view out the window or the view from an observation post are a big part of railroading. The people outside the USA take those few extra days to add the artistic touches that make experiences in Trainz quite visually proper.

@Slabay how can you 2010 ruin 2009 if 2009 was already a mishap of the century and 2010 just the step up to the first "mature" (if i forget the inherited bugs from 2009) into 12 :hehe:
I know I had trunda's and other fine stuff by the thousands but in life to grow its pain and making clear decisions and move on for the better.
@Isegrinns I know the name already shows the german link so coming from Hamburg no surprise and making a route somewhere else no surprise too if you ask me. I always liked your stuff well done for years but have not much time to spend on the forum coz try to finish in beauty route #4 as my first ever to launch if things go well before half of this month YES!
@Slabay again I think you never visited my thread and ask again about TS12 and route building on a level nobody has dared before on any trainz version, proving even with a bunch of inherited nasty bugs (circumventing like pittbulls wonna bite) TS12 is the best version ever released. Now waiting for the best ever P2 update of TS12 only for bug fixing.

Question @ N8phu bout difference between US and EU you almost nailed it and you could compare it to the eating culture difference we "older" people still have as for US in general a hit and run for the nearest hamburger store or equivalent and get it done the fastest and quantity for your money where in EU where I came from and was raised we tend to go to a restaurant choose from a menu some fine food and fitting drink and take time as quantity and quality and enjoy no rush but I think that time is changing with most youngsters nowadays.
We EU do not think slower probably faster and make the decision before doing :hehe:
For those feel offended i am joking around but it has a big sense of truth in it.
Patience is something the American dream forgot to talk about only fast and furious and no prisoners kind of theory unless for milking them....ouch i have to be careful. Ooh by the way I had bizz and visited countless times the US in my life and lived there too till 9/11 so I not just ramble here.
Patience I think I had the most in Trainz where I started my route(s) project some 7 years ago and full swing since 2010 version sooo.... Isegrinn you have been for ever on yours if I recollect right?
What is most beautiful about this forum how we can share ideas and thoughts and questions from all over the world and most of the time a very warm feeling good to hang out place.
To end with anybody know what Isegrinns mean I DO" I remember when i was really young that was in the 1950ies mom many time used the word you isegrinn something like if i did not get what I wanted my face showed like an isegrinn.

have a great day ya'll

Roy--

For me, TS09 was quite the improvement over UTC. I never really had any issues with it. For whatever insane reason I did it, I upgraded to TS10 (I think it was because of layers for route building- I don't really remember now). What I can say, it certainly was NOT a painless upgrade. I lost a lot of content that took me forever to chase back down (because it didn't really "upgrade" as it created its own installation), it destroyed another route I was working on (which was no great loss since it was my first route and had a lot of learning issues on it), and of course the speedtrees and killing Trunda's trees issue.

As far as upgrading to TS12 (and they have a good deal on it right now), I've been afraid..... I certainly don't want to mess more up, I don't want to lose compatibility mode (which I'm not really using right now anyway), multiplayer just doesn't hold any interest for me, and finally, I'm running on a 2009 laptop, and I'm afraid that another upgrade would just cripple my poor computer- I don't have terrible framerates, but they aren't all that great either. I worry that TS12 would just be too demanding. Finally, I haven't really been doing much route building at all lately. I've really been enjoying the reskinning that I've been doing and I'm interested in getting into the modeling side of things. Sort of like Ben Dorsey who doesn't even run/build anything in Trainz, he only builds objects to use in it. I certainly don't want to go to that extreme- I enjoy running the trains from time to time, but I;ve been bitten by the creating bug lately, and I certainly don't need to upgrade for that.

I'm not sure if I've seen your thread or not, but I'll look for it. I've been overlooking some pretty good route threads lately.

he slabay I know where you come from all to well. iported routes from 2004 to 2006, 2009,2010,2012 ouch yes that was not porting that was more return of the zombies sometimes but finally got things done the hard way.
if interested here is my thread TS12 based ready route
http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...-2011&p=1035111&highlight=Joosten#post1035111
you will be pleasantly surprised that not all in trainz is bad but the way getting there is the hard way.

Your laptop should be fine as itested my stuff on 4-6 year old gaming laptops meaning the graphic card supported at that time games so......
