I applaud this route, as it seems that you are the only one who recognizes that RR's are a dirty, filthy, rusty, greasy, grimey, rugged place, with occasional ballast strewn on top of RR ties.
I have seen several other routes on the forum that are equally fabulous, their only downfall is the choice of track, which is brand new, with clean milled RR ties, that looks like they were laid just yesterday, and the Bon Amy cleaning lady comes out and Lemon Pledge cleans the ties, with Minwax wood polish daily.
Your route looks so real, and rugged ... everyone should learn from your techniques ... and run fully weatherd loco's and filthy railcars, as RR's are dirty, filthy, rusty, greasy, grimey, rugged places, where newly painted, clean, washed, and waxed loco's, and railcars, are an extreme rarity.
Bravo
