Stuff that I do. (XXL pictures)

Well, if I were to take your opinion serious "nimec" I would honestly tell you to go jump into a bunch of razor lined cacti.

Keep it going, your work is epic dre.

Hmmmmmmmmm

EDIT: Looking back at his posts, I wouldn't be worried Dre

Some of the rolling stock is dated...but the route itself is pretty spectacular. This route stands out even more as it is one of the few current ones that isn't filled with GEVOs and intermodal containers.

You're funny.

I do game development for a living so it's kind of interesting popping over and seeing what people are doing with Trainz and how it has advanced over the years. Most modern Trainz content could hardly even be considered 2012 (we're actually in 2013, even if by a month, that month has still shown some pretty cool advances in the industry coming out) by industry standards.

I don't really get what your angle is, if you're just trying to be a right up poop shout, or if you're trying to offer some words of encouragement in a tough love package. Either way, you just come across as bitter and condescending. You immediately destroy any credibility you would have, especially as you go on to attack the other users that enjoy the work of the route builder in question. You didn’t really add anything constructive besides put someone down and put others down that enjoyed that someone’s work.

So, even though I can be a stickler for graphics, especially with the industry I work in and my background, I actually kind of like the work shown here by Isegrinns. Trainz is kind of a dated engine, but I find his work to look pleasing and enjoyable. He has made good use with the resources he has at hand.

So do us a favor eh? Stuff it. If you decide you can bring some constructive feedback to the table (Like oh, your track choice is spot on, but you might consider using this bush instead of that bush, yada yada yada), than I’m sure you’ll be a bit more welcome. Until then, just because people like something you don’t, that doesn’t mean you need to dog on them. Just because someone isn’t doing work that you feel is good enough, well you’re not paying them / contracting them to do it, so stuff it. If you’re so twisted in the undies about it, then go out and do better yourself, show people how it’s done.

What rubbish some of these folk talk. You will need to do much better than some of your posts on this thread. Many of the shots you have posted in this thread look no better than 2006 rubbish. That's not what 2012 is all about. Up the realism and the quality and dont get sucked in by some of the wankers on this thread who praise you but dont have the cojones to be truthful. Go to it and good luck.

This is a pretty bad post really and dont like comments like that being thrown at my friends thanks, Maybe you wish to share some of your AMAZING work.

-Lets call it quits guys. Enough is enough. This is outstanding work. I may not post after every screenshot but you bet your bottom, I am looking at this thread every time pictures get posted. Keep up the great work and don't stop. Just remember, as long as your happy with your work and your enjoying it, who cares what others say, good or bad, nothing else matters.

I just have to add a comment in support of Andre who is absolutely one of the best route builder around and produces outstanding results. On top of that he is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to know. His chosen time period results in the use of older content but that's not his doing. The route itself is beyond all doubt outstanding and can hold its head high in any company and on any version of Trainz.

Andy...

Same here Andre, good work on your route. Keep it up and don't worry about wankers who can't do the same or better and only want to knock the effort you have put in.

I have nothing else to add that you two haven't already said... Except my support... Also, there are very few people that I ask for their opinion on my route work, and Andre is at the top of the list.

I figure I will chime in seeing as Andre has been posting some pics of Whiteshore as of late. (Autumn New England route) For those of you who don't know, Whiteshore is actually a route that I created for a route building contest a few years ago that was just sitting on my harddrive. Anyway, Andre liked the route, but I just didn't have the motivation to do anything with it, such as upload it. Anyway, Andre took the route and ran with it, and updated and improved the route significantly. He has done such a nice job on it and worked countless hours to improve the areas that the original was lacking. Really, he has done so much that at this point, I view it more as his route, than mine.

Anyway, I just want to say that Andre does amazing work and he is an amazing guy to work with. If you think you can do better, then why don't you post some screenshots of your own?

Actually, more importantly, if you have some sort of criticism about someone's work, why don't you name specifics. Your post is completely unhelpful in anyway. In no way do you indicate any reason for your displeasure.

I'm going a bit off topic of the rant that has been going on here by saying this, but nice to see you still pop in on the forums, Josh! Once again, thanks for all the stuff you've given us over the years!

Time to calm down everyone.

If you're going to post feedback/suggestions/etc on someones work, please ensure that you are polite when you do so. We will not tolerate making person attacks/comments on the forums.

Regards

Wow, what a wall of support!
Thank you guys, you humble me!

I like to keep tabs on things, pop in once in awhile. I like seeing the route work some of these guys do. I wish I had the time/ability to do it as well. I may get busy, but I still remember my roots. :p

Andre' are you feeling well? The trees are green and it appears to be summer in the pictures (GASP!) :hehe:

Nice to see you giving up on your dreary cold weather stuff :p.

Dave

The autumn route "Whiteshore" is done.
Its just waiting for a CMTM that David (Dap) is setting up.
Once this is done and we beta-ed it, we will upload it to our website.
I will announce it big time.
:)
