Stuck at Red Signal

FYI, I am a newbie. That said, I'm using TS12 and have been enjoying the "Westbound Merchandise Train" session under the "Norfolk & Western - Appalachian Coal" route. I've arrived and stopped just short of a Red Signal at odometer reading 61.54 miles. I've been waiting over 20 minutes for the signal to change so that I can proceed. Could this be a known stuck signal bug, or is there some hotkey to get the signal to change? I'd rather not get a rule violation just to get through. Thanks in advance for anyone's comments.

Hopefully you are now on your way but 'j' is the key to change the junction ahead. Whether it will keep you on route is another thing.

Unfortunately, the junction just past the red signal is locked. The 'j' key did not change either the junction or the red signal. Is there a way to contact the script writer for this scenario? I am beginning to believe it contains this as a bug.

This problem is usually due to an AI train ahead of your one that has taken control of the junction before you arrive or one that has stopped ahead of you because it is blocked or has run out of instructions. Check ahead of your train for other consists and either issue a stop command for the train if it is under AI control and approaching you or give it some more instructions such as Drive if it does not have any remaining instructions. In general take manual control of trains ahead of you until you can get past the signal(s).
Timing of trains approaching junctions can be a bit hit and miss so while the Session creator might have timed things to suit his method of driving others might take longer to get to a particular junction and therefore the interaction with AI trains can go wrong.
