Stubborn track

Guys,

I am joining two sections of track together over a distance of three or four baseboards, I originally did it in one length but ended up with too many tight corners so I deleted it to try again and this is where my problem lies, I deleted three of the four tracks almost straight away with little or no hassle but I have been trying for three days now to delete the fourth track, I have gone the length of the track pressing the delete function several times but it point blank refuses to delete, has any encountered this before?????

I am running TS-12 version 61388

Any thoughts

TIA

PS Yes I am in the track section.

Have you tried just using the "Undo" button instead of using the "Delete" button. Sometimes a 'glitch' occurs and it's just as easy to 'undo' what you've just placed on your baseboard. I've found that works if you haven't made 30 additions to your layout.

There was a similar thread here only last week with a title like 'Stubborn spline'. Find that and see if there were any helpful suggestions, or even a solution.

There may be a train on it. Try scanning the minimap for a red train icon on the piece of track. If it's there, you won't be able to delete it straight away, so place an additional locomotive right next to it, push it towards the invisible one until they couple and the invisible locomotive will appear. Then you can delete both locomotives and the piece of track. I had a problem like this a few days ago when I deleted a session but forgot to remove a small shunter which turned invisible on the route.

I've just had the same problem with 2010.
The section of track had morphed into a fixed object!
Opened the Objects tab (where you find buildings etc.) selected delete and shazam! Track gone :)

Every few months we see this problem coming up. NO, you are not the only one having problems to delete a piece of track, for that matter, it could be any spline. Several things you can try, I say try because sometimes the problem persists. First try deleting in the route layer. A second would be to delete as an object (splines, magically get converted into objects). Note that when this happens, you can't move the thing, sideways nor up-down. At last resort, create a hill and cover it. Do all the other suggestions from the other posts. When The incoming edition arrives, these things will be "things of the past"... I Hope...

Sometimes too this has to do with the mouse-focus on the object. I have found this is easy to solve by attaching a piece of track to the end, deleting the spline point where the track as attached to, then deleting the whole piece. Sometimes just dragging the track at a different angle can make it easy to get to.
