Strange Google Earth Images

Strange Google Earth images: (Too many to post here).

I was asked by someone to research the Freight Yard in Mojave Ca.

Being Millitary, I know that there are some places not meant to be seen.

On Google Earth North of Edwards AFB there is a huge gridwork of roads and culdesacs ... but no buildings, asside from a huge water tower.

All over the US and Alaska I have viewed very strange gridworks of roads resembling future cities carved in the desert, some are obviously amo graveyards and disposal facilities.

Looking for RR Satellite images one can not help to run across dozens of these strange huge gridworks resembling future cities, seemingly abandoned, etched in the desert ... Hmmmmmmmmm. :eek:

Yeah, but when people start buying those lots for homes, I'll be rich! Muha, muha, muha ha ha ha ha!:D

Indeed. Actually there are many unfinished suburban neighborhoods that were developed in the US to the point of empty lots, but existing streets and sidewalks, but simply ran out of cash to complete. Florida, for instance has many areas just like this.
 
It sounds like someone has been playing sim city again...;)

We have round-a-bouts here in the UK, and there is sometimes at various round-a-bouts, a junction that slips off, and goes to know-where...

I have driven on Route 58.... going from Bakersfield to Barstow (on the way to Los Vegas) many times when I lived in California.

The undeveloped areas you see are there, sold as home sites by real estate moguls to sell this land (:) Euphod maybe:) ).

The area is...at best.... horrible. Desolate, dry, hot, barren, etc. etc.

No one would want to live there after seeing the home sites they purchased.

One spot on the road is a town called Boron.... home of US Borax and the deep open pit mine used to extract the borax from the earth.

It is just not a nice place.

BTW, there is also a rather large rail yard in Barstow.... check it out.
