Steam

I have to say that I am finding this 'game' non-intuitive! Things are moving a little faster now though.

I have found LNER Mallard. I'd like to drive it up the West to Carlisle. Would someone be so kind as to tell me how, exactly, I can achieve this. Words of one syllable listed 1-99 would help!

Sorry for being so lame but that's age for you.

Ok, I've got a grip of all this now though the game's obsession with serial numbers, constant internet access to check you out, pay at every turn even to improve your download speed and waiting for tea to brew whilst it's ancient core cogitates is fast turning me elsewhere.

Having given up trying to put a steam engine in charge of anything due to steaming into buffers when I tried, I downloaded (at further expense) the Settle-Carlisle effort. First loaded it into 2010 but then could not find it so set it up separately. At last I was able to drive a steamer along a line I knew from my schooldays when the East Coast line was closed, which was fairly often in the 50's. Then, dammit, I realised it never went up Shap.

So can anyone point me towards the Lancaster-Carlisle route because I really would like to throw some coal on up that gradient?

PS and sign-off :-

Thrown some coal on but find this chuffing around ultimately totally boring. I intend to get one of those pensioners tickets and take a proper look. Thank you all for your help.
