Steam Version Won't Launch

Greetings,

I am using the Steam version of TS2010 and when I launch the game, I see the build number on the screen and nothing more -- the launch screen isn't there. I can actually move the build number around anywhere on my screen. Very odd.

I have to use Task Manager to kill the "launcher.exe" program, but still no love. I was able to get the game to start one time after I restarted my PC, but I can't do that every doggone time I want to play as I have background tasks running for my business.

Anyone else have this problem or perhaps a solution?

Thanks,
MT

PS: All of my drivers and such are up-to-date.

Hi John,

It's worked before, but suddenly stopped, so I don't think it's the resolution (I can't get to the Trainz options because of this issue). The PC itself is set at 1920x1200—it's an Alienware M17 gaming laptop w/ dual ATIs, so it's more than capable of running Trainz. Very odd that it just started happening... nothing has changed in the system at all.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully, I'll find a cure.

If you can't get into Options then the resolution setting is not the problem. I suggested this as I have had to do this after having a crash in Surveyor, John.

They have TS2010 on Steam? I never knew that. Now I'm going to check Steam for this madness...

EDIT: Whoo, What do you know. They have TC 1&2 all the way to TS2010. I have been using Steam for some time and I didn't even know.

Yup. I love Steam, but some folks hate it because of the DRM. I've been a pretty hardcore gamer for like 15 years and I guess it just doesn't matter to me if some big company knows what games I play or forces me to stay connected to play some of them. That's pretty odd coming from a very political cat like myself who's all about anti-big government and whatnot. Oh well.

Now, if I could just get Trainz to work ;p Re-booting does seem to solve my issue until the next crash (which happens a lot). Sigh.

Is Steam version SP3?
If not, I can't find it at all
