(Steam), Do you like Small or Big?

i like some not from North America, too. But, you did not have to be harsh about someone else's locale. Just what you like is all that was asked. Even if I do not like looking at some BR stuff, which is not true I like all trains, I would not drive this thread off track and say something rash like you did. Thank you, though, for showing your true feelings. Now we all know more about you.

i should probably say that i work as a fitter on a steam railway in the uk and we happen to have an un-rebuilt west county when its going and working fine its a lovey engine but when she goes wrong she goes wrong and she can be a right pain to sort out. to put it simply there was a reason that most of them got rebuilt. if you happen to like them fine by me when they are going well i like em too but after you have worked with steam for a few years you soon develop favorite locos and locos that you absolutely hate

I like small to medium sized steam, the workhorses of the steam railroads. The larger stuff might be more dramatic, but the small to medium engines did the day to day work. And while there were only 25 Big Boys, for example, the Union Pacific probably had hundreds of 2-8-0's.

I like small, well small to now days, but it was biggest in the early 1890s.

This was the Geelong Pilot from late 1920s till early 1950s as number 395 before re-numbering to 108 and being moved to North Melbourne from 1951.

Cheers.

Is it wrong if I say I kind of like them all?

Granted, as a general rule I tend to prefer the smaller-to-medium size end of the scale (for me that's about max-size 2-8-2 or a Russian Decapod) but I do love me a D&RGW M-64 northern, or a C&O USRA 2-6-6-2, etc.
