steam and smoke particles on steam locomotives going crazy and out of place

has anyone have particles where they are offset and or going in every direction unrealistically? I have been having this issue and its bugging me. is there a kuid to fix this or something? what do i need to do to fix this?

Turning off PhysX normally solves it in my experience.
