Split spline not working

Can someone tell me whats wrong here,,when I click on split spline and then on the middle of a track nothing happens, it just stays the same.?

Though tracks are splines, the split spline option found under the regular spines section will not effect tracks.
You will have to use the same / similar function found under tracks.

If that still does not work, check if the track is not in a different / locked layer.

Thanks for the reply,,I found that I had to insert a spline in the advanced pull out then use that to insert a spline and then I can split it.

The Split Spline tool is intended to break the connections between existing splines joined at a spline point. It's not designed as a Divide Spline tool.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who vaguely recalled having the ability to click the middle of a spline and create a new point. I thought I was loosing it!
