speed sign assistance

I'm having an issue with a certain speed signs. When one wants to use a speed sign that has a passenger speed of 65 mph and a freight speed of 60 mph or passenger 80 mph and freight 60 mph what is/are the triggers that tell the passenger train to speed up to 65 or 80 mph. What happens at the moment is all trains go at the lower speed. i.e. 60 mph and none of the passenger trains up to the requested speed. I've tried adjusting train priority, no success.

You are able to achieve different trains having different maximum speeds on the same track by using this trigger: "Update max speed and priority", available for download on the DLS (KUID2:645812:100106:5).

What speed signs are you using? I believe there are some that should do what you want but I have not used them for a long time so do not know if they work correctly in TS12.

There is also a max speed command that could be issued after a navigate to/via trackmark that will change the maximum speed for the train.

Set Max Speed To, <kuid2:450022:90001:2> for mph

Set Max Speed To (km/h), <kuid:450022:90002>

I'm using "cn speed sign 6560" and "speed P-65 F-60 mph"

Use a standard speed limit sign and the max speed rule for your freight trains so that the passenger trains will operate at 65 mph and your freight trains will run at 60 which you want. I use this all the time so my coal trains, which I set at a max speed of 40 mph will not careen along at 80 mph like the passenger trains do on one of my routes.

There are the dual speed limit signs, but I don't know how they operate. They may work in conjunction with another associated rule.

Looking at the config.txt file for some of the "dual" speed limit signs shows that the speedlimit tag only contains one speed (in metres per sec) and that is for the freight speed limit. So it appears that they will never work as required. To get them to work anything like you want you will need to edit all the config.txt files and change the speedlimit to the upper value then use a max speed limit command before the freight train reaches the speedlimit sign to achieve the lower speed.
