Source for Instructions to make splines and textures.

There was a post on the old forum to which martinvk replied. He suggested looking at existing spline assets to see how they are constructed. The OP, Rockster, replied that he had been successful.

Although I have not tried to make a spline, examination of the several fences and walls etc indicate that the config file needs the contain some particular tags:

bendy 1,
kind is track or bridge
length
endlength
width (thickness of spline)
height

Have a look at "Corrugated Iron Fence" by Vulcan.

Hope this helps

Hello.

A spline it's only a kind of track, in traindev say that

KIND Track - (including Bridges and Tunnels) and scenery splines are built using TS2009 Stitched track.

You only need follow the track building instructions -> http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/KIND_Track

Into the track Trainzdev tag -> Modeling Splines -> http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Modeling_Splines

See -> http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/CCG/Kind:_Track for know if a spline is track or a simple object spline (istrack tag)

Hope this helps

Unfortunately that will now get rejected in TS12 unless you use a trainz build of 2.8 however after September you can't use that so will have to use stitched mesh for splines which requires a different config. Need to examine splines made for 2010 & TS12 for the newer method.

The old ways of making splines are over, however, Manuel, one of my dearest friend coach me last week on how to deal with the new stitch system! Through trail and error it became simple ... just follow the instructions and practice that Manuel post up, and come back here to this thread with your results! Place close attention to how the config file is set up!
