Sorting out DLS content from non-DLS content

Is there any easy way to determine which content in a route comes from the Download Station (DLS) and which is third party assets not on the DLS?
Cayden

Yes.

:cool: In Content Manager, select the route.

RMB on the file, select View Dependencies.

In the Dependencies window, select View in main list.

Open the Search, and Asset Details panes to the left. Close the others.

Asset KUID will be displayed, with the kuid listed. Open another filter + and select Built-in, then "false.":o

Save this filter using a name, in the Search function. It will appear as a tab for editing the content, or for quick reference. If you Open for Edit the route named, you can access the file quickly from the tabs Open For Edit, or Today if you commit the route or any of it's assets.;)

The non built-in items will be displayed, in the Text view of CM, select Author ID and all the items will be listed by the Content Creator. Check the list for updates from the Download Station, select multiple items if needed and RMB, View asset versions, select the missing items and RMB, Download.:sleep:

At this point, you can search using name, kind, etc for suitable substitutes from the DLS if you wish to upload to the DLS...it makes things easier...if you can find your level of quality...:wave:

Review these lists for other combinations of filters to quickly find your routes, author's lists of content, locomotives, locomotives with errors, commodities(products), AND, AND NOT, OR, etc.:hehe:

Add the filter Size to the filter-bar, and you can sort according to size from largest down to smallest, to see who could kill your project first!:Y:...just kidding!:o

Thanks backyard. I'll give it a try.

I am starting to prepare my route for release. I have not used any payware but have used third party assets that I want to give directions for downloading.

I don't know of a way to show only third party content, but there is a quick search which removes most built-in and DLS content...

As Backyard suggests, locate the route in CM > RMB > Show Dependencies > Show in Main List.

Now add to the search filter (below the existing search) AND > Locally Modified = TRUE

Your list now shows only route content which is:

(a) Yours, irrespective of whether it is on the DLS or not. Let's assume you can sort that lot out by yourself;

(b) any built-in or DLS content which you have modified - you need to sort out whether any of this stuff needs to be released with the route or if it can be ignored;

(c) once you have eliminated (a) and (b) everything else in your list was downloaded from third party sites.

This search is not bombproof, but it's the best method I know to sort out 3rd party content...
