I would think models would be easier to use seeing as you need expensive programs and a lot of time for CGI,
but for models you just need time.

Oh how true. I loved it as a kid, but then I grew up and what's worse, it went all: 'Thomas has to get this metal to the suspension bridge. What would be the best way to get there?" Oh please. Why, BBC? Why would you do this to your adoring Gen-Y public? Your going all computer-graphics because it's the 21st Century. It doesn't justify! Bring back our old Thomas!:'(
