If you're making your own route, when you start Surveyor, change the region from default to something else. The default region has no cars identified in it, hence, no traffic.
If you're running existing routes, these routes have no carz in TS2009:
Banks Heath,<kuid:-18:1846763756>
British Midlands 2,<kuid:-3:10172>
Highland Valley Industries,<kuid:-3:10173>
Highland Valley,<kuid:523:1013>
Niddertalbahn,<kuid2:208598:100050:6>
Hawes Junction,<kuid:69379:100411>
Northbay County,<kuid2:44700:800045:1>
Robe River Iron,<kuid:3801:20000>
Robe River Iron,<kuid:-18:1001>
Rosworth Vale SP2,<kuid2:5562:20011:2>
Winter in the Alps,<kuid:-1:100858>
Winter in Germany,<kuid2:143919:27565:1>
Wirtschaftswunder DE,<kuid2:300062:1082:1>

Hi Bob
Thanks for your reply.
I am making new roads.
How do I change the region setting from default?
Regards
Tom

For new routes, when you first start Surveyor the Trainz Settings window has a box called Geographical Region where you select what you want. For existing routes, start Edit Route and in the Main Menu box upper left corner, select Edit Route to get the Trainz Settings window and make a selection.

Hi Bob

I have found the Edit route for existing new routes but all I can do is change the route title. There is no Geographical Region in the box.
If I started a completely new route there is the Geographical Region on the box that I can change I have found that.
In the spline area my car icon is red.

Thanks for your patience
Tom

My bad. My Geographical Region statement about existing routes only applies to TS2010. I saw that you have 2010 but didn't notice that you were talking about 2009.
There is a way to change the region of an existing route. Create a new route, selecting the desired region, then merge the old route and save. Your old route will now have the new region.

Hi Bob

I now have traffic on my Trainz. I managed to do it after a few attempts.
I have lost all my engines and rolling stock and a few broken rails in the merge but I can replace all of these easily.
Thanks again for your help.
Regards

Tom :D  :Y:
