Signals

I would like to know should i put signals on a single main line that branches to two main lines at each ends.?
I would think that having signals on that part of the main line would cause a corn field meet.
Having Signal on (say)the west double main line when a train is going west bound just pass the junction.
With a signal on the east bound track just before the junction.

Try this, a signal either end of the single track section to control the junctions onto the double main, and 1 on each main before it enters the single section. That should make it first come first through the single section.

Depends on the signals. Older style Trainz signalling worked best if you only signalled the trailing approach to the junctions (the side with two tracks) but had no signal on the single track side. It's not so much a cornfield meet that results, it's a stand-off if you get three trains approaching the junction.

If however you use the new smart scripted signals then you have 'absolute' signals on the double-track side of the junction and a 'permissive' signal protecting the single track approach. The script then looks after things and no stand-off results....
