Signaling for moveable bridges

I did a bit of a search and came up empty on this one.

I was wondering if anyone has overcome this problem?

I know bendorsey's bridges are mocrossings, but I don't think the mocrossing can control signalling.

I thought about invisible switches with stubs and stop signs on both sides of the bridges, but the bridge would still have to control the switches....

Is there some sort of trigger that can be used that will hold signals red until the bridge animation shows that the bridge is down?

I realize that signaling is controlled by the rails, that is why I was thinking of the invisible switches and stubs with the stop signs.

This is a good one and I've been thinking about this myself recently. I'm not sure if this can be done because the track on the bridge is fake. The track used by the trains is invisible and therefore always connected to either side of the bridge.

I'm sure though that someone will figure it out and come up with a script or something.

If the bridge was remade, and ben had the project files opened, and he put a signal as part of the bridge, it could be triggered as part of the animation and status of the crossing.

But... other than that, maybe boat's diamond protection signalling system? Not sure.

Cheers,

Keep in mind gents there is no script file in the folder to control the bridge. That's why we make them as mocrossings - - - to take advantage of the fact code to control them is built into Trainz.

Normally they trigger at 80 meters from the track attachment points but I seem to remember someone saying by using markers, rules, etc. that can be changed to farther away. You might look into that as a potential clue.

Yes, you can use ATLS for this. Just treat the bridge as a level (grade) crossing and use LCM mode.

As for a signal that will clear when the bridge is down. Two ways. Use a 'Sen City' ATLS Controllable signal..... or use an Inverted Slave in line with the train track. (Be careful with this option.)

PS - If your ship is really a 'train' then you can also use ASB Crossover to stop it moving when a train comes! Trainz user 'Stagecoach' is the expert on this.

I made a transporter bridge which is a transfer table running in the longitudinal direction (lengthways not sideways). It works but they are tricky to make and very rare. It was over the Kiel canal in Germany. Still in use too.

ATLS Advanced Demo on the DLS was created to show how ATLS can do a lot of things. One of the things created is a lift bridge with trains and cars travelling over it and boats passing under or through it. It gets complicated but it can be done.
