This old friend of mine got a little facelift with my limited skillset of reskinning and swapping textures. Anyone want to help set new attachment points? :p

Aside from the yellow-orange color for the cab being horribly off from the prototype (I'll be going back to fix that), I think this one's coming along fairly well.

Edit: Here's a slightly updated shot with the fixed cab color. This color looks closer to what I'm seeing in the pictures.

I know the model is all kinds of wrong, it is definitely not a GMD SD40-2. I saw the scheme and thought it looked cool, so I used the closest thing I had available to me. Yes I could get a payware model which actually looks more accurate to the prototype but I don't feel like spending money on a model just so I can paint it and then let it collect dust on my hard drive. Honestly I have more fun making things for this game than I do actually playing the game, so I wind up finding something interesting, I bury myself in gimp for a few days, pop out something interesting although perhaps not totally accurate, and then because I'm usually working with models I can't share, they wind up collecting dust with the rest of my paint jobs.

All that said, am I at least on track with all of my colors?

I've had my progress on my imitation ONT SD40-2 halted. Currently I've encountered an issue with the mapping. If the handrails were uniform in color, as they are on the unit I skinned this from, then there is no problem, but with my unit, I've found that:

Edit: Not a problem anymore. Turns out I suck at mapping (who would've guessed?). Back to work for me.

Getting there. Just gotta redraw the doors and hinges where the logo is, and then it's off to weathering. I really like this paint scheme, one of the cooler ones I've seen.

went on a reskinning spree tonight and managed to get out a couple locomotives for my fictional railroad made.
