Show off your reskins!

And furthermore;

While tinkering with these I decided the color was too dark and didn't match the F7 very well, probably someone in the distant past stripping the speculars when converting from PM to IM.

Clone with 128-128-128 specular, you can see the difference because the left and right door.im files are still 0-0-0 specular. After a few clones and experiments, I settled on 48-48-48 for the body mesh, and decided to make the doors the later stainless steel unpainted type, so I went to full blast 255-255-255 on the left and right door.im files,

I kinda like that one, get a more true color from every angle. :cool:

That was an attempt at a joke. :sleep: Altho it ain't really that much of an oxymoron, "the oldies" used to be 40s swing music, in the 60s it was 50s rock, in the 70s it was 50s and 60s rock, nowadays they play DISCO godhelpus on the oldies station, so nostalgia ain't what it used to be. :hehe:

C&NW is one of the hardest and easiest to paint for, they were so careless about upkeep that it's hard to find a true color - but if the colors don't come out right you can always blame it on weathering and fading.

Still working on it, but I suspect that's as close as I'm gonna get with the scoots. The green on the geep really needs more blue in it - I think.

Well, you got the gist of it correct! If it were me, I would have selected and saved the vents and the other dark details as a separate selection, and merged it with the main model after doing the repaint to give it more punch. I may have knocked down the contrast or brightness a bit, but as it stands now they are fairly disappearing. Oh, and your sig banner picture is too high as well.
Other than that, nice work.

OH you wanted orange? Well I must say that looks better than purple. I like the stripes too. I like your repaint of my JKLX. thank you for sharing.
Jim
BTW the purple version was done for HLJames

I was at a lose for a road name, so I stuck with JKLX. By the way who is JKLX? Thanks for looking.

Only reason is because JKLX is the name I came up with for my own personal leasing company, and I decided to base it off the initials of my name along with the colors I've been liking a lot recently. I just happened to need it since in one of the routes I'm planning it'll feature my own company which happens to use the center cab.

Well it looks like I'll be leasing from you, LOL

John
lol, no problem - it mostly started with an idea for a company I have in mind for some routes I'm making, and due to the planned size I thought it needed some sort of engines, especially to do local switching and some local events. Now my leasing company has actually redesigned the color scheme and is choosing a base of black to build off of. I'm a believer in green power, thus this genset got chosen.
