Show off your reskins!

Nice skins there GIRAUD!

The latest creation from the Minds of Norfolk Southern and their Scientists at Juniata. The Dash 8.5-40CW, in both Ex-Conrail, and Horsehead schemes

<snip>

Good start, but if I may, there are a bunch of noticeable things that appear to have been grossly overlooked:

The radiators are way too thin and don’t extend out back far enough
The whiskers on the front of the NS unit are way too thick and look to be up too high per NS standards
The doors should be flush with the body
The radiators shouldn’t come to that sharp of a point
The NS one could use a bit of darkening in the white paint (it’s more of a light grey than a white)
That contrail blue needs to be lighter
The ditch lights look to be way too small
One of the cabs doesn’t have the brow on the front
The cab roofs need antennas and other clutter
The front handrails appear to not have chains
And I honestly don’t know what happened with the fuel tank, it's way, waaaaaay off.

That's what I noticed off of the top of my head.

Jackson. It aint a Dash8.5. Me and Petrama25 built a fantasy engine. Fantasy can be anything. Stop trying to be a kill joy and let the dude have fun

Yup its a fictional loco. Probably gonna call it the SD6400CW. I already fixed some details. Nothing has to be accurate if its fictional.:p

Not trying to be a killjoy, just thought it was a dash 8.5 that was missing a few things, judging by the general shape and the description. Sorry for the mix-up. :)

And while it might not be accurate, it can follow general trends in locomotive manufacturing, such as the doors. :p

Anyways, back on track:

That LE&E GP35 is about to get new trucks, they aren't gonna stay blue. :hehe:

Then this one is more of a touch up than a reskin, but what the heck.

Nice skin cmoehire!

Unfortunately, the LE&E as I wrote it didn't have or lease any RDG T-1s. The closest they came to having any were occasional detours due to bad weather around Scranton and that area, but I'm not even quite sure the T-1s made it that far in the first place!.

I do have some 4-8-4s on the roster, although they haven't been built just yet. :hehe: Right now I'm more concerned with getting my Hudsons and Pacifics in-game. After that I have a few other types lined up: a few classes of 2-8-2s, maybe one or two 4-8-2s, and the like. When I do build 4-8-4s, you can definitely expect larger and more "modern" power to follow! Currently I have the LE&E buying Lima's last design, the 4-8-6, in 1949. Rumor has it that in anticipation of an order from the NKP, lima built a few boilers for this design. Unfortunately, the NKP was already too swept up in taking deliveries of its last Berkshires and its first diesels. So, in its last effort to utilize steam, the LE&E ordered 10 of the 4-8-6 Ohio class. Satisfied with the design, it converted several of its 2-8-4s into 2-8-6s as well. Sadly as maintenance costs increased as a result of dieselization, the last fires were dropped in 1960.

What I would suggest is making your own road! I'm kinda protective of the LE&E, especially since I've put a good bit of time into the roster and whatnot, so generally I don't like to see other reskins of LE&E equipment without my permission. Granted, I haven't said it that much, but might as well advertise it while I can!

If you want help, I'd be glad to assist in making a logo or helping out with backstory or the like.

Got that covered already, bro!

The following railroads I've created are based upon one of my all time favorite video game series, the "Tales of" series, by Namco Bandai.

The Tethe'alla and Sylvarant is mainly centered in the world of "Tales of Symphonia." This is T-1 class 4-8-4 #3303, the "Genis Sage." The first batch of Northern's were named after the playable protagonists in the game, thus were called th "Lloyd Irving" series of northerns. This one being named after my favorite character in the game.

Oh, and speaking of the 4-8-6 you were talking about, here is one in T&S livery.

The Keterburg, St. Binah and Pacific lies directly in the world of "Tales of the Abyss." As well, the K,St.B&P affectionately named their 4-8-4's after the main heroes of the game. Case in point, the "Luke fon Fabre" class "Dreadnought" 4-8-4. Here, #1103, "Col. Jade Curtiss", hauling the railroad's crack express train, The Fonmaster.

more to come! I gotta take off for work!

Fresh out of the shops is my own reskin of Blue Mountain and Reading 425, based on Ben Neal's Pacific. It's just been sent out for beta to a few close friends, and we hope to turn the finished product loose very soon.
