Ships and Portals

I am using portal basic that came with trs2006 and am trying to add some ship traffic to Tidewater Point.

The only problem i seem to be having is that when I use the emit now command to bring in an oil tanker for the refinery, it "derails" before it even gets moving in the portal.

Am i missing something...can ships not be used with portals maybe???

Any help would be greatly appreciated

All vehicles are created about 50 metres from the end of the portal track, the one with "Portal End" above it in Surveyor.

Therefore, the ship will be created at this point, with the vehicle centre point at this location. This means that the invisible bogies may not actually be on the portal track, hence the derailment.

To overcome this problem, you can attach track to the end of the portal. Make this track long enough and you will find that the ship no longer derails. You can use any track for this, all though you will probably want to use an invisible track.
