It appears that if you place several examples of the same loco on a track, in Driver they all have identical-looking drivers, even if you assign to them different names. Up to a point this can easily be overlooked, but it does become silly if, of Jim and Julie, both have a moustache and beard!
Does Trainz offer any way out of this embarrassing situation?

You might have to install a Swedish route to fix this issue. ;)

I'm not 100% sure if I am correct about this (anyone feel free to jump in), but I don't think there is any relationship between the drivers you select in a session, and the driver meshes that may or may not be present in locomotive assets.

Actually there is a relationship. Each driver character has driver mesh entry in it's config file. If you take a look at the config for Charlie (kuid:-101:10111), you'll see the entry "mesh <kuid:-3:10128>". When Charlie is placed in a locomotive, Trainz will use this mesh for the driver figure that appears in the cab of the locomotive (assuming that the locomotive mesh has an "a.driver0" attachment point). Most of the driver characters don't have their own mesh and some (like Charlie) use kuid:-3:10128. This is the mesh for DriverAlastair. Twenty-some driver characters use this mesh, including several of the female drivers (which explains why they appear to need a shave). I hope this helps to explain the apparent lack of driver variety. I'm sorry but, other than to try to figure out why most of the drivers look like either Alastair or Dave, I really haven't paid much attention to drivers so I don't know if the others available might have a more appropriate mesh.

Thanks for the explanation and that makes perfect sense. This is always something that has been on my wish list. To see a larger variety of driver meshes available. Something about seeing a driver in a pink jacket and a spiffy conductor's hat behind the controls of a grimy GP38 just doesn't look right.

I'd be willing to pay for a small package of new driver meshes. Anyone up for the challenge?

I stand corrected. Thanks for the information. I think a possible reason for the lack of driver meshes is that they are not easy to make.
