session disappeared

Well, this is annoying. I've been working on 2 sessions on the Mojave sub. I made the first one and got it up and running, tested it, working fine.

Then, 'cos I wanted to re-use the AI trains from it on a second session, I saved the session from surveyor as a new session with a new filename - so now I had my 2 sessions.

While working on the second session, I had that annoying **** where the game launcher tells me that some asset or another is faulty and I should fix it in content manager. I load content manager and as usual nothing is faulty (set filter to show faulty:true and get no items) - I did find one downloaded loco with a faulty dependency, which I deleted as I wasn't using it anyhow.

anyway, the whining about faulty asset persisted to I had content manager do a quick DB repair, and then it loaded TS12 OK and I carried on working on the second of the sessions. Tonight, I've finished that and tested it, and it's all good - But when I went back to the route screen, the first session I made has gone. Really ****ed about that, seeing I spent hours on it. Looked in content manager and it's not showing there either. I still have a saved driver session for it (from when I was testing) and that will load and run, but the session has vanished.

Anyone suggest a) why this happened and b) assuming somehow it got deleted (I definitely didn't delete it myself, or not knowingly) is there anywhere I can recover it from?

I could rebuild it, but I hate doing the same work over twice.

On a related subject, I did intend to upload the sessions to the download station, but when I try (after agreeing to the T&C) it just goes all "not repsonding". Is there anything obscure you have to do in order to upload content?

Unless you have disabled backups, it or a recent copy should be in Userdata\Backups\ one of the folders. May not be immediately recognisable so may have to check through the folders, if you find it, just use CM to import it.

Uploading I find is far easier and more reliable using the web uploader, save to cdp go to Planet Auran, login, Your Content, upload Content, rest is pretty self explanatory.

What could also have happened is that the route kuid got changed somehow when you saved the second session. Check whether you have more than one copy of the route.

If you find your first session, set the Map Kuid tag in the config.txt file of the session to point to the route kuid that you want to use. That kuid number also needs to be in the kuid-table container in the config file of the session.

In Content Manager you can click on a column heading tab to sort the items in ascending order. Click it again and the order will be descending. Do this with the Asset KUID column to show your most recent asset numbers at the top of the list.

Hope this helps

Trevor

cheers I'll have a look. I ddin't disable backups, so fingers crossed.

[edit] retrieved a backup which was missing only the end of session bits, thanks for the tip! It's not all bad as while re-doing the end of session, I noticed that I had previously made a logic error, so that's fixed now :D
