Serial Number Requirement

I have a query about the serial number requirements for the downloads. If it states, for example, TRS2004 serial number required, does this mean I will need to have a TRS2004 serial number or will it be accessible with a later version if I don't also have the stated version?

It means the former. If you puchase a copy of TRS2004 and register it, then you will be able to access those downloads easily.

You can still grab them if you enter the FTP address to the CDP into your web browser. The original DLS on the Trainz/UTC website displayed the FTP path on each listing, if I remember correctly, but that one got changed into a redirect to the Black Pages (TRS2004) DLS after I brought up the former's existance here on the forums. :o Now you have to type in the path manually. Please remember that if an asset is listed for TRS2004 then it may only work correctly in TRS2004. In some cases, such as with ground textures and some scenery, backdating should be rather easy, but not for some others like many steam locomotives.

Regards,

Retro.

If your computer is up to specification you would probably be best off getting a download version of TS2010 (about £16 with the current discount offer from Auran).

You can get the computer spec for TSS2010 from the Auran website.

With 2010 you can download content for any version of Trainz. TS2010 has a compatibilty mode for older content (but this does have a performance hit). Some older content ishows faulty in Trains but this is gradually being fixed by the community to work in 09/10/12.

Unfortunately my PC isn't up to TS 2010.

The main thing I want to retain from Trains 3.1 is the BR Intercity 125 / MK3 coaches with the final livery - there aren't many of this available to download for TRS 2004 (but a large number for Trains 1.3), unless this version of the Intercity rolling stock in included in TRS 2004 itself perhaps?
