serial number not recognised (brand new)

hi all, i'm leigh from cheshire england :)

the keycode on my new trainz 12 game won't register :( i've had trainz 2004 before now and another account but it seemed it wouldn't work to add another keycode, so i created a new email address and started from scratch with a new auran account etc. even now it still says it isn't recognised when i try to register :(

the game box is definitely new and was still in it's plastic wrapping / from a recognised shop etc.


i had constant issues with trainz 2004 on the website in the past but had another laptop then so it seems to be the site that is still very temperamental????

i managed to download about 5 items successfully in total for 2004 as the download helper didn't help very often. now i can't even get onto it with trainz 12 :(

if anyone has any idea why this keycode won't register then help will be gratefully recieved as i've been patiently trying allsorts since xmas,it just says it doesn't exist :(

apart from this hassle trying to get more loco's etc from the website again trainz 12 has the same old issues as 2004 in game play. point don't work, sending trains usualy ends up just sending it where it will go without point levers missing, no available route etc. i was hoping this would be better 8yrs on from 2004 :(

trainz 2004 took 2 attempts to put on my old laptop before it even worked. as did this trainz 12 :( i've had to drop quality of everything in options to stop the game turning into a slide show with no flow of picture. doing this seems to have stopped the zoom in and out using page up/down but everything else pretty much works so that will do. lol

i just want to download more uk stock and loco's to the east coast route and i'll manage and be happy as i no longer have any room for my model railway collection. sadly thats not happening and it's getting frustraiting now :(

Have you made sure that you have selected the version of Trainz 12 that you have? (There is the standard one, and the 10th Anniversary one)

cheers :). i thought this may be the case but this was my 1st avenue. i'll have a look for a link to email helpdesk if there is 1. i hope they're customer support is more reliable than they're games :hehe:

There is a link above for Helpdesk. Whilst there is an email address, it is better to use their web-based ticket system. Be aware that it may take a while for them to reply.

Actually, there's four.

Trainz Simulator 12 - this is the one direct from N3V.

Trainz 10th Anniversary Collectors Edition - this is the one with a load of extra items in the box.

The other two are the Powered by TS12 options. One is the Just Trains version, and the other one I'm not sure about.

Try all four options before contacting the Helpdesk.

I've sent an email but then found that it is the railway simulator powered by trainz 12 option and it's now registered :) :) thanks shane :) the email to helpdesk will at least show me what costomer services is like at responding. lol.

It's OK.

Just remember that if you are using Windows Vista or 7, make sure you have Trainz set to run as administrator. See my tutorial website if you are unsure on how to do this.
